Car wraps are a beautifully simple way to transform the look of your car. No longer are cars considered utilitarian horseless carriages. These vehicles have certainly come a long way. For one thing, today's cars are way more efficient, more reliable and better able to deliver more power for less gas. But is that all that is needed from a car? Definitely not! Cars are also status symbols, reflective of social class and standing. There are cars that range from beaters to ultra-luxury and all aspire to get a set of wheels from the latter category. Of course, not all of us can afford a luxury car. But luckily, there are ways to transform your car from an eyesore to a work of art.

For those who feel like a car should be an extension of one's personality, car wraps present as a cost-effective solution for doing just that. It need not be said that all of us want to have a cool set of wheels – something that stands out and do more beyond getting us from point A to B.

With car wraps, creating a strong statement, one that defines one's personality is easier. In an ideal world, we would all have the car of our choice. However, that usually requires a lot of money so of course, if you do not own a luxury car, you just have to make the most out of what you have got. Fortunately, there are inexpensive ways to bring new life to your car.

What are car wraps?

Car wraps are basically stickers that cover a car. These stickers are painted with bright and lively graphics. But these are no ordinary stickers; these wraps have to be good enough to survive on a car. They have to be durable and be able to survive sunlight, rain, dust and what have you. Lastly, these wraps have to be made of a strong material and the colors should not easily fade or disappear.

Currently, car wraps are used for both private and commercial purposes, the latter more than the former. You must have seen taxis and commercial vehicles featuring their company colors. Cars owned by companies usually have the logo printed on the side of the car. This used to be simple monochrome lettering, but these days with the advent of digital printing and graphic design, there are dozens of different graphics that can go on a car.

How are car wraps created?

The car wraps are first designed using graphic design software and are shown to the customer. A lot can be done with design software today. If the customer gives the go signal, the graphics are then printed on special vinyl material. The prints are usually large and require specialized printers. And these vinyl panels have to be produced in such a way that they can fit over the contours of the car.
