Top moving tips

Ask anyone to name their most stressful situation and they'll probably mention "moving house" in their top 5. That time in my life has come once again, I've moved home in the pass but usually it's been just me moving the contents of my room to another. My biggest move to date was when I moved in with my now husband, I was sharing a flat with a mate so there wasn't much to move.

To be honest I didn't have a lot of belongings and we sort of bought anything that we needed as we went. Unfortunately our small house has now become too small for us, so we are renting it out and moving to a larger 3 bed house in our neighbouring town. I have the twins now so just the thought of moving is stressing me out. To help me calm down and plan better I have been doing some research on "stress less moving", I've found some handy tips and thought I should share them.To be honest I didn't have a lot of belongings and we sort of bought anything that we needed as we went. • Room Vs Room- Start by forming two room lists, one for your current home and one for the next place. This will help you organise what has to go where and saves you a lot of time when unpacking.

• Getting people in, if you are going to use a removals company then make sure they are reputable, remember the cheapest aren't always the best, so do some research.

• 3 day vacation, this is one of my favourite – for everyone in the family pack a suitcase full of necessary items. This way when you get to your new place you will have a central point of everything that you need straight away.

• Flat packing, when flat packing furniture always tape smaller parts to larger parts, this will ensure you don't lose them get to them quickly.

• Label all boxes by room and contents. Even better, name some of the boxes "open me first", these boxes will contain items that need to come out first in order to make everything else work.

This is by no means an exhausted list of tips, there are lots more on the internet, I have just put together a few that will help me get started!
