Ready to jump ship

With the current UK economy not helping the job market I am finding it very difficult to find a new job. I am one of the lucky ones who have a job, but I have been on the same pay bracket now for nearly three years – which is getting a little frustrating. Working in the financial sector right now means finding a new job is pretty tough and all the firms are struggling.

So, I've been thinking - is the grass greener on the other side? A few of my university friends have taken jobs abroad. While the UK economy kicks starts again they are in the Middle East gaining a lot of experience as well as a decent pay packet. The global financial melt town has no affected countries like Saudi Arabia as much and they seem to be getting on as normal.

I know it will be hard to fit in over there, but foreign workers are treated with a lot of respect in the Middle East. Yes, it can be quite politically unstable but as long as I keep my head down I should be ok. I'm not married and not seeing anyone at the moment, my parents want me to progress in my career and will not hold me back. There is nothing stopping me, well there is, I'm stopping myself. I am actually quite scared of the prospect of living in a new country by myself.I know it will be hard to fit in over there, but foreign workers are treated with a lot of respect in the Middle East. If I move to Dubai though I will have friends out there already, and they have settled in well. They frequently tell me to come over and apparently if I use a reputable company they can handle my removals to Dubai easily.

I'm going to wait till after Christmas, see how the economy goes and spend Christmas with my family.
