Here in the UK pick-up trucks are growing in popularity, in the states and Australia pick-up trucks are a huge part of everyday life. They have become popular due to the fact that they can carry passengers as well as heavy loads. Pick-up trucks tend to be quite small, smaller than large vans yet still offer great versatility. Twin cab models offer the same passenger space as any family hatchback or saloon.
The Mitsubishi L200 in Reading has to be one of my favourite pick-ups; it's certainly one of the best looking ones in the market at the moment. When it was launched in 2010 it was named "Pick-Up of the Year" by What Van? a very prestigious award in the automotive industry. This isn't the first time either; the L200 has won the award 15 times in the past 18 years!
The Mitsubishi L200 comes with a choice of two diesel engines; both are 2.5 litre units with either 138 or 165 bhp. The smaller diesel is adequate enough for everyday use and can haul heavy loads with ease. The more powerful engine is very lively; it is very quick off the lights and can keep up with a lot of hatchbacks. The top of the range "Animal" model comes with the more powerful engine as standard. The Mitsubishi L200 comes with a choice of two diesel engines; both are 2.5 litre units with either 138 or 165 bhp. As it is made for heavy loads the suspension is very soft, which means that with an empty load the L200 can be quite bouncy and fidgety. Due to its high clearance the L200 does have a fair bit of body roll when cornering at high speeds. These are just a few negatives; the positives definitely out weight the negatives.
