Banner Hems- Are They Really Important

Getting a fantastic vinyl banner is a brilliant idea for both business and personal reasons. Their uses are so wide and varied that they are great for a multitude of purposes. Banner signs are often used for celebrations, festivals, family reunions, business, markets and carnivals. When selecting a few there are some decisions that will need to be made.

What The Vinyl Banner Says

First, you're going to need to decide what that sign should say. Is it something that you're hoping to use more than one time? This may mean that you'll want to consider one of the templates that many companies offer. Do you want your company logo on it? This could help get your business recognized and start you on the road to branding and becoming better known. You'll also consider the color and size of the sign. Most likely, you'll think about where you're going to place it and how long you want it to last. Additionally, think about shipping and the best ways to make the most of your investment. Try to decide as much of this as possible before getting on the line with the company that will be helping you out.

Finishing The Vinyl Banner

If you're selecting a vinyl banner there will be some questions you may not be prepared for. Sure, you've thought about what you want the sign to say and how you want it to look, but have you thought about how it should be finished? Do you know what that means? Hems are one of the items you'll need to consider when looking into finishing your banner sign. This means considering how the edge of the sign is done. If you decide to skip having hems then you want to consider this a very temporary sign. If you want your investment to work harder for you and be available for more uses you'll want to consider having hems on it.

There are two main choices to have for the hem. A double stitched sewn hem is the best selection if you want your sign to be the most durable that you can get ahold of. This means it will be able to be used outside and in all sorts of weather. You should also consider having the corners reinforced. This will allow for the best strength when hanging the sign. It usually involves plastic in the shape of triangles added to each of the corners.

Different Ways To Install Vinyl Banners

When you install banners indoors or outdoors you can use a variety of methods including velcro for display purposes. There are several ways to safely hang banner signs and using velcro with the vinyl banners is one of the ways to insure your banners will stay put and not rip out of their heavy duty and sturdy metal grommets.

Using Velcro with Banners is Easy

When you are using velcro with vinyl banners for hanging from a chain link fence all you have to do is slip the velcro through the grommet holes and catch it together at the back links of the chain link wire. It will hold that banner in place quite securely. If there is a chance of wind through the chain link fence you might choose to use bungee cords so that when the wind hits the banner it will flex against the chain links and not rip out with the wind. If this is a high wind area you might consider ordering a vinyl mesh banner instead of a solid material banner. Some banners also have scalloped cuts placed along them so that they resist the wind.

Using Zip Ties to Hang Banners

Another way to hang banners is to use zip ties. Although this is not as flexible it holds the banner in place just as tightly as you pull the end of the zip tie together so it stays against whatever you are hanging them from. This is particularly effective on a chain link fence. Also as vinyl banners some with such strong metal grommets you can also use twine or rope to hang them in place. This is not as attractive as other methods but it does do the job.

Where to Hang Banners

Banner signs can be displayed wherever you decide you need them. They can lighten up a dark corner or make a smaller area of a room look more inviting to customers. Banners can be hung vertically or horizontally, it all depends on where you choose to put them. When you are using banners you have lots of placement choices such as from the ceiling or actually affixed to a wall. If you order them with pole pockets you can hang them directly on a pole so they can flap lightly in a breeze. If they are colorful banners they will display very well and can't be missed by customers.
